The 5th XI have shown for the fourth season in a row that they deserve their place in the challenging BUCS Midlands 3B league which contains 3 university 1st XIs, finishing in a strong 3rd position. The side are looking to push on and better this years league table finish, with aspirations to top the table.

The highlight for the 5th XI’s 18/19 season was combining with the 6th XI to win the Adult Men’s T4 National Championship at Lee Valley Hockey Centre, which the whole club came down to support. This weekend cup provided not only some great hockey matches for the team, but also ensured the boys made some amazing memories from playing at such an incredible hockey venue.

Whilst being in the lower half of the club, the team still trains twice a week with BUCS games almost every Wednesday. The squad attend team and club socials with one occurring on a weekly basis, where the side bonds and teammates become close friends. The side also try to support all the club’s teams, especially crucial games for the 1st and 2nd XIs.
